Finding My Joy and Purpose in the Everyday Journey

As we near the culmination of our Midlife Magic journey, we arrive at a stage that is less about striving and more about savoring: finding joy and purpose in the everyday.
After the intense work of transformation, the self-discovery, the doubt, the leaps of faith, the resistance, and the uncovering of our strength, it’s time to shift our focus. This stage is about realizing that the magic isn’t just in the destination, but in the journey itself.

HITTING MY GOALS BECAME AN EMPTY EXERCISE
For a long time, I was a goal-driven person. I was always chasing the next milestone, the next achievement, believing that happiness was just around the corner. When I started my business, my focus was on reaching a certain income level, on getting a certain number of clients. But even when I hit those goals, the feeling of satisfaction was fleeting. I was still on the hamster wheel of striving, and I was exhausted. I had changed my life, but I hadn’t changed my way of living.

The solution was a conscious shift from a goal-oriented mindset to a process-oriented one. I started a daily gratitude practice, writing down three things I was grateful for each day. This simple act helped me to see the beauty and joy that was already present in my life. I also started to celebrate the process, not just the outcome. I would take myself out for a nice lunch after a productive week, or buy myself a bouquet of flowers to celebrate a small win. I was learning to prioritize my own happiness in the here and now, not in some distant future. This shift was profound. It was the difference between a life of constant striving and a life of joyful being.

MY SEARCH FOR JOY AND PURPOSE WAS VERY COMMON
This search for joy and purpose is a powerful undercurrent of the midlife transition. It’s what drives 73% of women to consider a career change, seeking not just a new job, but a new way of life. And the results are telling: 90% of those who make a midlife career change report feeling happier and less stressed. This suggests that the journey of aligning our lives with our values is, in itself, a source of profound joy and satisfaction. It’s not just about what we do, but how we feel while we’re doing it.
EMBRACING THE CONCEPT OF "RADICAL SELF-LOVE"

Finding joy and purpose in the everyday is a radical act of self-love. It’s a declaration that you are worthy of happiness, not just when you achieve something, but simply because you exist. This stage of Midlife Magic is about slowing down, savoring the small moments, and cultivating a deep sense of gratitude for the beautiful, messy, and magical journey of your life. The treasure you’ve been seeking is not at the end of the rainbow; it’s in the raindrops and the sunshine along the way.
